The idea of ecomojacar.com originates from studies and experiences of the team since 1997.
As interest turned into action, we began to regenerate areas of land in urban environments and create installations, including permaculture and sensory plots, mini orchards and woodland creations.
Projects always maintain an educational and vocational theme and promote diversity within communities and environments.
Ecomojacar.com aims to develop a framework for a more sustainable approach to future development, raise awareness and encourage local people to be involved in local issues and meet their needs without preventing future generations from meeting theirs.
Eco philosophy : A pluralistic approach in considering environmental philosophies allows for a holistic approach to the value of environmental protection, provision of human need and advanced economic welfare. Ecomojacar.com recommends engaging in a pluralist approach, as no mortal being alone knows fully how to protect the whole biosphere.We believe in the intrinsic worth of human and non human elements of the biosphere.
Eco inspiration : James Lovelock (1979), formulated the hypothesis, Gia.
It is a critique of the dominant mode of ecological regulatory mechanisms. The perspective is based on sixty seven principles, attempting to quantify deep ecology, and replace the concept of earth from a productive machine to a living organism. Lovelock highlights the interdependencies of the organic and the inorganic. Gia embraces a biocentric perspective towards the earths survival.

An Overview of Ecomojacar Environmental Education
•Programs are designed to educate, inform and involve an audience in resolving or preventing environmental issues.
•Environmental Education was formally defined by UNESCO in 1997.
•Environmental Education broadly refers to the balanced presentation of information and skills that enable awareness of the total environment and the associated issues.
•Ecomojacar aims to supplement formal education in the provision of opportunities at local level to youth, the community, tourism, educators and commerce.
•We aim to provide training and education and therefore develop a bank of local resources that connect environmental concepts to the locality.
•A systematic and holistic approach to the teaching of environmental issues stresses connections of the community to biodiversity.
•The use of multiple perspectives and methodologies provide skills that enhance the quality of life.
A Guide to Ecomojacar Environmental Education
•The adaption of materials to suit age level and cultural group, environmental issues and localization of species, people and landscape.
•Teacher training to complement components lacking in the topics of environmental resource.
•Extracurricular programs that develop cultural and ecological awareness of indigenous natural trends and customs.
•Environmental and health awareness issues in the local community, including educational materials that encourage a dialogue in the development of materials and resources.

Rules
•Aid in the preservation development and promotion of sustainable community space, participation and inclusion of the environment and ecology.
•Provide training opportunities for local people. Facilitate and perpetuate collective community responsibility.
•Promote local participation. Promote conscious inclusion of diverse groups within the locality.
•Support sustainable community space and activity through events and workshops. Provide opportunities for the local community to access specific knowledge and skills for the development and maintenance of sustainable open space and ecological awareness.
•Provide safe areas for education and an increased quality of life. Provide opportunities for the community to engage in activities which give direct control over their lives and surroundings.
•Promote solution based approaches to environmental issues and encourage exploration of cultural, theoretical and practical aspects of biodiversity and sustainable development.
Membership
Membership shall be open to anyone interested in sustainability, ecology and community space.
Donations and Appeals
Ecomojacar shall have power to accept donations for any purpose not inconsistent with its objectives and may make special appeals for funds to be used with any such purpose.
Resignation
Any member may terminate membership any time in writing to the secretary.
Termination of Membership
The Management Committee has discretion to discontinue membership should it be deemed appropriate. Appeals have the right to make a representation to the management committee within three months.
Management
The committee shall consist of the Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary. Each sustainable community space shall have the opportunity to nominate at least one representative. They may co-opt, ex- officio members to the committee. Four members of the committee shall constitute a quorum.
Procedure for Nomination to the Management Comitee
Nominations from members must be in writing before the AGM accompanied by a signed agreement to the nomination by the nominated member. All nominees should be nominated and seconded by members of Ecomojacar. Should nominations exceed vacancies, elections shall be by ballot at the meeting.
Election of Officers and the Management Comitee
Ecomojacar shall initially, at every AGM elect a Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and Representatives, to constitute a Management Committee and shall take office at the end of the meeting of which they are elected and hold office until the next AGM. All members may be elected for further terms. The Chair for the time being of the Management Committee shall also be chair of the AGM.
Finance
The treasurer shall keep accounts of all monies received and expended on account of Ecomojacar and shall present these accounts at the AGM. A bank account shall be held on behalf of Ecomojacar. All cheques and monies drawn upon account shall require signatures of two members of management. Accounts shall be prepared annually and submitted to independent examination.
Annual General Meeting
The financial year of Ecomojacar shall end on the 31st of March each year and a general meeting of members shall be convened by the secretary as soon thereafter as possible and within three months for the purpose of receiving The Annual Report and Balance Sheet, and for electing the officers and management committee for the ensuing year. To continue any other business as may be necessary fourteen days notice of such a meeting shall be sent to all members. Members present in person shall constitute a quorum at the AGM. In the event of a quorum not being present, the meeting shall be adjourned to such a place, time and date, within the ensuing twenty one days, as the chair shall decide and the members present at such adjourned meeting shall constitute a quorum. Extraordinary General Meetings Amendments to the Constitution and Powers of Management shall only be made by the elected Management Committee and by ballot
